What is laminate flooring?

Laminate flooring is crafted from wood fibers in multiple layers to closely mimic natural wood. It employs low-pressure, short-cycle technology where "three papers and one material" are hot-pressed simultaneously at 195 °C to form the final product.

Wear Layer: The wear layer consists of a clear surface infused with evenly distributed aluminum oxide, enhancing resistance to wear, water, stains, and daily wear and tear.

Decorative Layer: The decorative layer offers a variety of styles, mimicking natural wood grains or stone patterns.

Core Layer: Comprising over 80% wood, the core layer serves as the foundational board, providing robust structural strength and exceptional durability. Its moisture-resistant properties make laminate flooring ideal for damp environments.

Backing Layer:Essential for stability and strength, the backing layer maintains the board's straightness while safeguarding both the subfloor and the laminate itself. It boasts strong moisture-proof and waterproof qualities.

How to make laminated flooring?

Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL) is the most widely used method for manufacturing laminated flooring. It involves hot-pressing wear-resistant paper, decorative paper, HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) substrate board, and balance paper in a single operation. Once pressed, the panels are conveyed individually to a cooling shelf.

Following pressing, the wooden boards must acclimate to the factory's temperature and humidity conditions for one week.

Cutting: The floors are cut to size according to specified length and width dimensions for production of finished flooring. An additional 10-11mm processing allowance is added, and each strip is cut from the large plate accordingly.

After cutting, the flooring strips are also left in the factory for a seven-day period.

Waxing: Finally, the grooves undergo a wax sealing treatment to enhance moisture resistance and reduce formaldehyde emissions.

What are the advantages of Laminate flooring?

The highly durable protective surface layer provides laminated flooring with excellent wear and compression resistance.

Laminated flooring offers a variety of locking systems for easy and convenient installation, such as UNILIN and VALINE, featuring T-groove, U-groove, and V-groove options.

This flooring type is mass-produced to replicate wood textures faithfully, making it a cost-effective alternative to solid wood flooring.

The hard-sealed surface treatment on laminated floors ensures easy cleaning and maintenance, with a robust locking system that prevents dirt and debris from accumulating between boards—requiring only a mop and vacuum cleaner for upkeep.

Thanks to its waterproof properties, laminate flooring experiences minimal expansion, making it particularly suitable for kitchens. Tight seams between boards ensure stable surface conditions, reducing height differences and creating a smooth, attractive finish.

You have the option to apply a wax seal treatment, further reducing water absorption and formaldehyde emissions in sealed laminated floors.
